About Whilly

Whilly Bermudez wants to represent you in the Florida House of Representatives and he needs your vote!

A thirty-three year-old small business owner, Whilly is the proud son of Cuban immigrants and one of six siblings. He learned early on the value of hard work, determination, and initiative, and founded several successful business ventures over the years. His first major effort, The Whilly Bermudez Group, has provided marketing services since 1997. Whilly has branched over the years, providing networking management services to groups and individuals, as well as advertising and consulting services.

As a leader in the community, Whilly is passionate about community improvement and civic responsibility. To this end, he has organized and participated in fund raisers, toy drives, and food drives for organizations such as the Children's Home Society, The Miami Rescue Mission, St. Jude’s Hospitals, The American Red Cross, and the American Cancer Society. Whilly was one of the first responders to the Homestead Air Force Base for the Haiti Earthquake Rescue Relief with the American Red Cross Operations Team.

With community service in mind, Whilly founded a Nonprofit Organization called the ‘Make It Count Foundation’. The organization was created to help non profits and charitable organizations meet & exceed their fundraising initiatives. “Make It Count Every Day” is the motto that Whilly Bermudez lives by. A phrase used to remind us to do ‘something’ for someone else and promote good deeds and positive living in the world. Whilly has been interested in politics since he can remember. He’s had the privilege of volunteering his time and energy to various worthwhile political campaigns both at local and national levels. Whilly’s commitment to the community and the political process has increased in recent years as he’s devoted his time and resources to running for public office.

Whilly is a member of the Board of Directors for The Institute for Child & Family Health. Notably, in 2008, Whilly was elected into the Republican Executive Committee and has received endorsements from organizations including the Miami Herald during an impressive run for a seat on the Miami Dade County Commission. Besides his sharp business acumen and experience in brokering deals and in negotiations, Whilly brings an understanding of his community’s needs and a fresh perspective about how to best meet those needs. Corporations and the community agree that Whilly Bermudez means credibility and results.

WHILLY’S CORE VALUES - Whilly is driven by a set of values that support him in all his endeavors:

Whilly believes that hard work and personal accountability are integral to success in life and in business

Being from a large family has fostered the importance Whilly places on family values, and his appreciation for the support that family provides.

Whilly believes that the government should work hard for the people, not the other way around. High tax burdens that hurt ordinary people are egregious, unnecessary, and unacceptable when other alternatives are available.

Whilly values civic responsibility, community involvement, and welcomes the opportunity to participate in community activities and encourages involvement in issues & interests vital to the community.
